you use a long fine threaded bolt usually from a gear puller and insert it into where the bolt comes out of the clutch in the center and tighten the long bolt up usually with a impact wrench and the clutch will come off if the clutch is set up like the snowmobiles and the variable speed atvs
The above method will more then likely cause damage on ATVs that never had the primary clutch removed. in that case tip scrambler on its side and fill hole up with some heavy gear oil, using a fine thread bolt (or removal tool) wrapped with Teflon, begin to thread it in, it will use the hydraulic pressure to "pop" the clutch off. be prepared because it will fly off, one hand on clutch and other on wrench. works on any polaris primary clutch
1. Remove belt/clutch cover 2. Pull out old belt, should pull in easily at secondary sheave, spimply walk it out then remove it from primary 3. Inspect all clutch components - anything is out of spec repair it 4. Install new belt in similar reverse order 5. Check/adjust belt deflection (by shimming secondary) 6. Install clutch cover 7. Test drive
Remove belt cover from left side of engine . If you remove the screws that hook rear fender to foot rest the cover comes off easier . Then take out bolt in center of rear clutch assy . Slide rear clutch off and remove old belt .Install new belt in reverse mannor .

You have to have a special tool. It mounts to the side of the flywheel, then you screw the bolt into the plate onto the center shaft and it pushes it off...
Remove the clutch cover , you might have to remove the left floorboard to remove the cover . The rear clutch can easily be removed by removing the bolt in the middle and pulling it straight outward . The front clutch requires a puller that screws into the center of the clutch .Removal without a puller will result in clutch damage .
You have to pull the front clutch off to get to the rest of the bolts...
You will need to remove the transmission. Remove the clutch plate retaining bolts. Remove the clutch linkage. Remove the clutch retaining bolts.
You need to buy a puller ,one for the drive clutch [ on the motor ] and one for the driven clutch .That drives the ATV ! I bought mine from Dennis kirk for 60.00. Take the bolts out of center & put the puller in & tighten puller, they should come off
you must remove the clutch hub (along with clutch plates etc) which will require a speciall puller...also, remove the front sprocket 9on the end of the motor crank), once they are both removed (the belt and all) you will have access to the bearing...
