How do you remove a tail light from a 1998 Ford ZX2?

Take the light assy off and remove the bulbs. There are a couple of screws that are accesable when the tail gate is down

open the tailgate. remove two screws on the inside of tailgate opening that secure tail light lense. pull tail light straight back. it will take a little force to remove as there are two push pin type retrainers on the outside edge of the tail light that connect it to the body.

To change a tail light bulb on a 1998 grand prix you have to first take out the carpet from the trunk. Next, you will be able to get to the bulb just remove the case holding covering the bulb then twist, remove and switch the bulb.

You have to remove the tail light first, and to do this you have to take the 3 screws on the tail light, open the trunk, remove the 3 screw and pull the light toward the outside (slide it to the side, if you are taking the left taillight out slide the tail light toward the left, if you are doing the right side slide it toward the right side). There are two screws on the outside of the tail light assembly. Remove these two screws (keep them) and the assembly should be able to be removed from the truck. Carefully twist the socket out of the tail light assembly. Pull the old light bulb out of the socket and replace with new. Insert the tail light assembly into position in the truck bed and replace the two screws.

Open the trunk, behind the tail light you will see a thumb screw, remove this then pull the trunk liner out there will be 2 more behind the liner remove these and pull the tail light straight back.
