You must first remove the very top of the dash.Carefully pry out the side panels of the dash.There is one screw on each side.Then open the glove box.There are 3 black screws along the top and two gold screws up in the hole that is there.(Dont drop them behind the glove box). Then on the top of the dash in the vent, there are three screws.Lift the dash top strait up.After you move that out of the way,there are 3 screws on the top of the bezel.Carefully full the trim bezel strait out being careful not to break the mounting tabs with the clips.The two screws holding the radio are right there.Just take your time and be gentel

That happened to me several times. The thing is, with the Cavalier CD player (99-01) they have a very difficult time playing discs even slightly scratched. Make sure you have a clean CD. Finally, if all else fails, open the fuse box to the left of the dashboard (open your drivers door) and remove the fuse for the stereo. Put it back in, the stereo will reset itself. Worked for me.
