The nut of a guitar is non-adjustable. The only thing you can do is file it, or remove it and shim it.
You won't ruin anything within your guitar if you remove your guitar cable from it! We guitarist plug and unplug cables from guitars all the time!
It depends on where you have it. Try restringing your guitar, see it that fixes it. And what kind of climate do you keep your guitar? If its wet a lot, the neck could be absorbing water.

your going to need to remove the strings, and the piece that the strings are attached two at the bottom of the guitar. Other than that, it is perfectly possible.

Thinking of removing the black gloss finish on my tokai love rock guitar and keeping it as a satin wood finish (just use some oils etc). Is there an easy/cheap way to do this?
Get a clean rag, and some Martin guitar polish, spray the polish on the spot and buff the spot out with the rag.
Use an electric eraser over the mark. Rub with finger then almost gone
Brute force. Just pull it off.
