My Relic dress watch required me to tap out a small cotter pin from the links. You have to magnify the pin slot to determine the correct side to tap from. I was frustrated at first, then it was a breeze, once I got over the intimidation factor. Use a very small nail and tap the pin out while holding the band over something with a sufficient hole in it. I used a spool of thread because of the hole in the center. It also caught each pin for me. Putting it back together is easy, too, just be sure to go in from the correct side which is very slightly larger. I used a magnifying glass for this. I was lucky, my wife worked in a jewelry department at J.C. Penney's and had done this many times. Other Relic watches have a link that snaps together.
