We keep a squirty bottle of washing up liquid (Ecover) beside our bath and a sponge with a rough green back. We get out of the bath, pull the plug and wipe the bath around with the sponge. As the water runs out keep doing this and hey presto clean bath. No extra things to purchase.
obviously with washing powder. use only a little bit, a teaspoon or so. If that's not available, let them soak and then rinse in fairly hot water. This will get rid of everything but the very greasy things. Wipe them instead of letting them air dry.
