How do you remove a paper poster that is stuck on the wall?

Try using dishwasher liquid diluted in hot water. Score (make lines with a sharp knife just through the top layer)the paper, then thoroughly wet the area and let sit. It should be able to be peeled off after a few minutes. There are other ways to do this, but this always worked for wall paper, so thought it might work in this instance.

a good idea is to peel off as much of the sticker as possible, and then rub a little bit of vegetable oil, baby oil, or butter on the remaining spot. let it absorb for about 5 minutes and then use the dull end of a butter knife to scrape off the remaining residue. wash the area with soap and water afterwards.

Depends on what the wall finish is. -Lift-Off or Goo-gone are reasonable to start with.
