Removing the camshaft position sensor is the easy part. Once you've located it on the end of the head (driverside, above the transmission, on the right side as you look at it) remove your air hose from your throttle body this will give you just a little bit more space to work on it. Once that's removed using a 10 mm socket untighten the four bolts holding it on. Make sure you clean all the oil off the magnet and clean up before installing the new one. Most 1995 neon require a replacement pigtail to attach the camshaft position sensor to the connector. Its called Wells socket 445 connector cost about $25. Make sure you match up the wiring and splice it in.
The camshaft position sensor, which is located inside the distributor, is a pretty easy component to test on the 1992-1995 5.2L/5.9L Dodge Ram 1500/2500 pickup.
The 1995 for Crown Victoria camshaft position sensor can be found on the back of the cylinder head. The camshaft position sensor will be labeled as such.
The Camshaft sensor is located under the cap and rotor of the distributor. This is a common failure on the 2.4L engine due to oil leakage into the distributor. how is the camshaft sensor replaced on 1995 Nissan altima. what other considerations are there.
The Dodge Durango was introduced in 1998, so this question cannot be answered. However, in the 2000 Durango.... The camshaft position sensor is located in the distributor on all 3.9L V-6 and 5.2/5.9L V-8 engines Camshaft Position Sensor REMOVAL Distributor removal is not necessary to remove camshaft position sensor Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect negative cable from battery. Remove distributor cap from distributor (two screws) Disconnect camshaft position sensor wiring harness from main engine wiring harness. Remove distributor rotor from distributor shaft. Lift the camshaft position sensor assembly from the distributor housing Camshaft Position Sensor INSTALLATION Install camshaft position sensor to distributor. Align sensor into notch on distributor housing. Connect wiring harness. Install rotor. Install distributor cap. Tighten mounting screws. Install air cleaner assembly. The camshaft sensor is the same as the crankshaft sensor it is local on the passenger side of the valve cover . And going down to your crankshaft inside the timing belt cover
