Dimmer switch is in the bottom of the steering column. drop the steering from the inside, may have two plates to protect you from crashes and SIR system wiil have to be disconnected. there will be two 15mm bolts holding the bottom of the support gear, you might want to take off the steering wheel to give yourself more room. Iformation for the SIR the connector is always yellow with a red middle insert pin, remove pin and lift tab to disconnect the SIR CONTROL SWITCH IN THE STEERING WHEEL. Now along the left side of the steering column you follow a toggle rod down about half way to a plastic switch that has a blue and orange wires connceted to it. wires are possible 10 or 12 guage. There will be 2 7 or 8 mm head screws holding the switch. loosen them and take the switch out and replace, do not bend the rod coming down from the turn signal lever. yyou are done. GNX MAN
The headlight dimmer switch is located on the end of the lever. Remove the steering column so the lever can be properly reached.
It is probably the dimmer switch. The contacts in the switch will get pushed back and when you switch to dims they will not touch. Had the same problem on my 91 Nissan.

how to remove crankshaft position sensor from 91 Buick Regal
I own a 1991 buick park avenue ultra. I'm sure it's in the same place as the buick. I just had that done. It is located on top of the steering column. You must take the front panel off in order to reach it. I would suggest that you go to an electrical shop. It is a dunting job.
your local library may have a free shop manual to peek at.. good luck Dave
You must remove the fuel tank.
