I just took mine out 85 Camaro, I had to remove the Exhaust, and it was one piece to the catalytic convertor so, I sawed it into, (Yikes!), and then emoved the metal cover underneath the gas tank then I had to unbolt the cross braces on the rear end and take loose the straps, then I could get it down enough to unplug the wires to the gauge and fuel pump was in a connector over the top front of the tank, then I unhooked the hoses and finally got it out, replacing the fuel pump was easy though but when I tried to put the tank back in, I can't get it to go up far enough to get the bolts in the straps started was going to get all thread long pieces and screw nut up till it went into place but I felt a line kinked I am afraid on top of the tank now, so.. guess I'll take it back out and start over. I wonder why they ever had the bright idea of putting fuel pumps inside gas tanks? they worked perfectly fine outboard like the Fuel injected Nissans were except they were easy to change. guess they want more dealer service money... hope this helped...
