Many a tank was replaced under warranty. We used to remove the two bolts beneath the seat and lift the operator deck enough(and block it up with a piece of 2x4) having removed the fuel cap. It should slide out to the rear and left.
Not extremely easily. However a leaking tank is a hazard and a "good" dealer will solve it It is a matter liability.
I had to replace my L110 gas tank due to the pin-hole vent in the gas cap getting clogged and eventually it caused the tank to implode and leak. If you want to replace it yourself, you must get a copy of the service manual (either direct from JOHN DEERe for $95, or free on the web if you search well enough). Unfortunately it requires extensive disassembly, starting with the mower deck, then the steering column/pedestal, then the fenderdeck. There are anecdotal stories of just removing the back springs (underneath the seat, and prying-up the body (fenderdeck), but I tried that method and it was not possible. Fuel tank can be ordered directly from John Deere on-line for about $70.
magnetic dirt clod
no, but there is an inline filter.
The John Deere gasoline tank on the 2305 can hold a lot of gas. It can hold up to 100 gallons of fuel that will last a few days if not a week. The tank is very effective.
back of tractor below fuel tank.
Some were actually made by John Deere, newer versions are made by Murray ,I was informed if the gas tank is in the rear,it's a John Deere,if it's in the front it's a Murray version!
The fuel tank will be provided by the chassis manufacturer. What do you have? Chev, John Deere, Work Horse, and so on?
Had same problem with my John Deere 335. It was because there was dirt in gas tank and fuel filter was half clogged. Need to replace fuel filter.
# Raise the seat (as you would to add gas) # Remove the 2 springs that the seat rests on (use a socket with extension). # Remove the gas line, use needle nose pliers to squeeze open the clamp, then pull the hose (this is under the body panel, access from the rear, on top of the tank) # Have a helper lift up on the rear of the body panel, reach under the panel and lift the gas tank out. # Install in reverse order. The body panel is quite flexible...I called a John Deere service shop and this is how they do it. 10 minute job.
The manual says replace the gage if it doesn't read when parked on level ground and gas in the tank.
it might be underneath the engine. it is completely enclosed be a cover that has a nut on the bottom of it. its about 2.5 feet from the oil tank.
Remove the 2 bolts under seat that are holding seat springs. Remove steering wheel bolt and steering wheel. Take the top cover off and pull over steering rod, should be 6 screws holding it on. Now u can get to the 6 bolts that are holding green frame on from the inside bottom, remove 6 bolts then you can lift and prop the frame up from the back...the tank will then lift right out..!
before that can be answered , you need to tell what needs to be repaired throw it away buy a john deere
