HI ! 1. UNSCREW THE DOORLOCK KNOB. 2. USE A SCREWDRIVER TO REMOVE THE 2 SCREWS FROM THE DOORHANDLE. 3. ALL THAT IS LEFT IS TO CAREFULLY USE A SCREWDRIVER OR PUTTY KNIFE TO PRY THE PANEL STARTING AT THE BOTTOM SIDE FARTHEST AWAY FROM THE HINGES, AND WORK YOUR WAY AROUND THE PANEL UNTIL YOU CAN GET IT COMPLETELY LOOSE SO YOU CAN SLIDE IT IN AN UPWARD MANNER.THIS RELEASES THE TOP OF THE DOORPANEL AWAY FROM THE WINDOW FRAME.AS I RECALL IT WAS EASIER TO DO WITH THE WINDOW ROLLED ALMOST ALL THE WAY DOWN!

BY THE WAY, ALOT OF THE TIME THE LITTLE PLASTIC PLUGS THAT POP INTO THE HOLES TO HOLD THE PANEL IN PLACE DO NOT WANT TO BE USED A SECOND TIME OR SIMPLY TEAR OUT FROM THE PANEL, SO BE CAREFUL AND KNOW THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE TO LOCATE A COUPLE REPLACEMENT PLUGS. THEY KINDA REMIND ME OF SOME EARPLUGS THAT I'VE SEEN. THEY SLIDE INTO THE HOLE IN ONE DIRECTION EASILY BUT DON'T LIKE TO COME BACK OUT SO EASILY. GOOD LUCK

I had the same problem with a Hyundai Accent 1996. You need to disconnect the speedometer inside the front hood.
