If its the same as a 1987, you have to first take out the ash tray. The top part where the temp control is can be popped out with a screw driver as it is held in only by clips.
There are then 2 screws under where the ash tray was that need to be undone.
Then you should be able to pop out the entire wood-paneled part surrounding that whole centerpiece.
Once that's out, there are 4 screws which will be highly visible that hold the radio in place. Unscrew these. Undo the 2 electrical connections in the back of the radio console and unplug the antennaes. Voila.

Disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine and crank engine over-you should get a snapping blue spark

remove the screws holding on the trim, remove the ashtray(should slide out) then remove the trim peice, then unscre the mounting bracket. Then unscrew the radio from the bracket and unplug the wiring harness.
