See answer on other page. For a 94 Towncar with rear disc brakes: Jack up the car and remove the wheel. Jackstands are a good idea too. The calipers can be removed by inserting a suitably sized Torx wrench (mine was a socket that fit on my ratchet) into the two mounting bolts that face inwards - away from you. A screwdriver at the top of the pads will help loosen the calipers/pads, or you can compress it with a large (6 inch) C-clamp. Then the top of the caliper should slide out, followed by the bottom, which has a clip that fixes it to the bracket. Then the pads can be popped out by hand, or with a screwdriver. To remove the brake line at the hose connection at the body frame, a brake-line wrench is recommended; these look like box wrenches with a section cut out. Or a wrench at the caliper connection can be used.
Remove the tire and wheel from your 1993 Lincoln Town car . Remove the brake spring and break caliper. Remove the brake rotor by tapping on it with a hammer or mallet. Slide the rotor off. Reverse the process to install the new rotor and brake pads.
Lift the car with a vehicle jack, remove the tire, remove the brake shoe/caliper and remove the old brake pads. Dispose of the brake pad, put in the new brake pad, put the brake shoe/caliper in its place, put the tire back in its place, and lower the car to the ground.
To Remove either the front or rear brake rotor, you must first remove the tire and wheel to expose the caliper. Then you remove the caliper, there are two bolts, the heads facing outward toward you if you are at the wheel well. There is one bolt at the top, and one at the bottom. After removing the bolts, you can then take a large flathead screwdriver and pry the caliper away from the the rotor. The rotor will now slip of of the wheel lugs.
Remove the caliper, remove the caliper bracket, and remove speed clips that hold rotor. If the rotor is stuck , take a hammer and hit it squarely between the wheel studs.
