you need to remove the cover or whatever you call it to get to the radio. then you have to unscrew the radio and then you can just pull it out. it should take you no more than 10 minutes. remember though that the the piece is a big it goes from just after your shifter to just below the temperature gauges. I have a 1993 del sol. What you should do it remove all the screws from the center consol including the ones on the cupholder / arm rest. You want to remove the whole cupholder assembly first by lifting the edge closest to the rear window. Disconect the cigarette lighter cable and set the cupholder aside. Now you want to put the car in D1, if you have an automatic, to remove the upper assembly more easily. Unscrew the housing around the sterio and you're done. Remeber not to disconnect the factory sterio if you don't know the password.

about 3K-5K depending on on trim. ive seen '94 Del Sol's that are well kept go as mich as 5K DSR.

You shouldn't need a password to actually disconnect the stereo. Most likely the password is keeping it simply from operating. Pull the stereo head and see if it has a reset switch on the back or if it has a small watch battery somewhere in it. Other than that, you'll have to replace the whole thing, which I would recommend. There are some very nice single DINN stereos for decent prices

1997 was the last year for the Honda Del Sol DSR.

the Honda del sol is a civic so they do have the same lug pattern and offset

Honda Del Sol's sold in the US in 1997 1997 = 5,603 Del Sol's were sold.

The easiest way? Remove the center console and then the stereo, on the back of the stereo is a serial number. Call your local dealer and usually (with a little smooth talking) if you have gone to the trouble of retrieving the serial number they give it to you. The price they charge is to do the same thing you just did, remove the console and stereo for the serial. As far as I have heard, the dealer is really the only place that can retrieve the code for you. Another option is to make sure your security system does not need resetting. Reset directions are in the security manual of the car.
