take off the water pump housing on the front of the engine, ancilleries like the air pump may need to be removed also, the thermostat is located directly behine the pump housing, wil pry out once the housing and water pump are off.
Drain the water from your radiator. Remove the radiator hose, from the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Replace the thermostat housing gasket and reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
Drain the water from the cooling system. Remove the radiator hose from the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
You should have the 5.2 engine with your Limited, but some have been ordered with the 4.0. The Thermostat is located on the front of the engine at the end of the Radiator hose. It is between the Alternator, and the A/C Compressor. You might find it easier to remove the Alternator to get to the 2 bolts that hold in the Thermostat Housing. remove them, clean the housing and the surface it sits on, install a new gasket and thermostat and put back anything else you may have taken apart.

A 1994 VR Commodore thermostat housing is located where the at the end of the large lower radiator hose. There will be a small housing with two screws. Be sure to drain the coolant before attempting to remove the thermostat.

follow your bottom radiator hose to the thermostat housing remove the 2 10mm screws and there is the thermostat
follow the top radiator hose and it should lead u right to the thermostat housing. remove the housing and the thermostat is inside

follow the top rad hose one end goes in rad the other in the thermostat housing
follow the top radiator hose to the engine. that is where your thermostat is. you will have to drain the radiator, remove the engine side of the hose and remove the thermostat housing to access it. remove thermostat clean mating surface of housing and engine, install thermostat, install housing, secure radiator hose, fill with coolant. start engine and check for leaks.
follow your lower radiator hose to where it connects to the engine block remove that hose and there u go thermostat will be inside the thermostat housing right underneath
behind the front bumper on the chassis.
on the 13b engine it should be behind the waterpump, just below the thermostat.
