Did you check the cable that runs from the pedal to the intake? Maybe it could be broken or just simply worn out.
All of the fuses in the miata are located in the engine compartment. Looking at the car from the front, there is a black case near the left hood hinge. Open it, and the radio fuse is in there.
Most likely .032, but check to be certain...I have a '91 B2200 and am assuming it to be the same.
To check the fluid level is easy. There is a squared plug that is located on the left hand side of the transmission and is above the drain plug which is on the bottom. To check the level remove the plug with a open end wrench and stick your finger inside and you should feel the oil or see it leak out of the plug hole that you removed the plug from.I would recommend changing the fluid which is gear oil suggested weights to use are 80w90 or 75w90 gear oil rated as a g4 or g5.Any brand like coastal sold at auto zone, advance auto,or walmart do fine.Valvoline or other higher end cost more.I would not use synthetics if it has more than 100,000 due to age/wear.To drain remove the plug on the bottom and would advise driving a little before hand to help it drain quicker. The truck holds about 1.5-2 quarts of fluid. To fill use two long funnel tubes together with a funnel add at least one quart and a half wait then check as above. It will be full if u feel the oil or it drips a little over the fill hole.Do not over fill it will make the transmission run hot.Having another person pour while you hold the end of the tube in the fill hole makes things easier but,not necessary.Do this on level ground.
Inside the blower motor housing directly behind the electrical coupler.
On the 88, remove the glove box by removing all the screws you see when you open the glove box door. You will see a 4 wire connector off to the right. It is plugged into the resistor. This is a common failure when any of the lower speeds of the blower motor fan don't work (high speed is not affected by the resistor).
After you remove the hoses from the core, remove the nuts and bolts that secure the heater case to the firewall in the engine bay. Inside the cab you will have to remove the glove box assembly for clearance. then disconnect the blower fan wiring. there may be another bolt securing the heater case to the firewall on the inside of the cab. Then you should be able to remove the heater case. You'll have to split the heater case to get to the core.
