I'm not sure this is the best way to work on this, but we have a 2001 Dodge Neon and the sunroof would not function but you could hear the motor. My wife said she put her right hand on the glass and as she operated the control button with her left hand she applied light pressure on the glass and all of the sudden it worked.
Once she did that, all was fine. I then lubed the rails hoping it was just something that jammed the mechanism.
I would try that first before taking it anywhere and spending $100 to have joe the oil change boy do the same thing.
Hey,having the similar problem and looked it up on a forum. If its not moving but still making the motor noise, theres a good chance your cable on either side is caught or detached. You need to disassemble the sunroof and reattach it.I believe it only requires a screwdriver and an hour or so
It is just in front of the sunroof, above the headliner.
Broken cable?
Above the headliner, to the front of the sunroof.
Connect the sunroof motor with the sunroof motor retaining bolts. Connect the sunroof linkage. Connect the wiring harness to the back of the sunroof motor.
Look for dirt in the track and/or motor. It may close if you assist the motor by pushing on the sunroof at the same time.
have u checked the fuse's or the switch? also make sure that it is on track.
Howdo i put a sunroof motor in on a 2001 eclipse
The sunroof motor is in the headliner, above the motor switch You have to remove the sunvisors and pull down the headliner to see it
Where is the power sunroof motor located on a 1994 Chrysler LHS
First, find the motor for the sunroof. There will be a manual override on or around the motor that you can turn to close the stuck sunroof.
under the sunroof contole panel in front of the sunroof
To close the sunroof on a PT Cruiser, you have to use an allen wrench or socket to turn the motor manually. The motor might be located at the front of your sunroof.
