The window linkage broke on my 94 Trooper months after I bought it in August, 2005. Of course, to get new links I had to buy a whole new track and motor which would have been more expensive than the whole truck! (Not really. . .but I really didn't want to spend that kind of money!) So instead, I purchased some aluminum bracketing wire that plumbers use to hang pipes from rafters. (it comes in a roll that unwinds and bends easily.) I cut a 3-4 inch piece of this to replace each of the old brackets. I bolted one end into the track. I bent the other end into a "V" shape so the window could rest in it. Then I poured the strongest glue I could find around the "V" so it would adhear to the glass. This worked for 7 months before the glue broke. So just today I made new brackets and used the strongest velcro I could find to adhear the glass to the jimmy-rigged brackets. This is working again, but I am unsure of the longevity. The whole thing probably cost less than $10, even for the two repairs. Better than $300+ for a new motor just to get the brackets!
Remove the inside door window panel. Make sure the window is on the window track. Make sure the window linkage is not needing repair. Replace the window motor.
To repair a stuck driver-side manual window, use a screwdriver to remove the screws attached to the door panel. Pull the door handle away from the door and lower the window regulator to the lowest possible position.
I would try to swap the pass. side window switch to the drivers' side first. Then it probably is the motor, if you can hear the hum then it's binding in the linkage. Hopefully it didn't fall off track.

I was qouted $217.95 plus tax to replace a shattered driver window.
Hey Ron==This is a pretty big job and unless you are a pretty good mechanic I suggest you take it to an auto trim shop. The trim has to come off of the door then you have undoo the linkage that holds the window and there are very sharp places inside the doors. If you want to tackle it I suggest you get a manual that shows this repair. You will have it for the next repair. GoodluckJoe

Take door panel off. and put window back on track.
The problem may not be that the window has come off the track. I have a '98 Chrysler Concorde and the driver's side window wasn't operating correctly so I took the interior door panel off and found that one of the brackets that anchor the window to the track had broken. I tried to repair it with JB Weld but it didn't hold. I'm going to have to buy a new window.
The 1999 Nissan windshield wiper linkage is held in place by three retaining nuts. Remove the retaining nuts and the linkage will come free. Replace the linkage with new linkage.
You can go to the dealership or call a window repair specialist. It cost around $150 to repair the chip in my window from a window repair specialist. However, if you are the do-it-yourself type, then you can get instructions on the eHow website. They offer step-by-step instructions with pictures on how to repair it yourself.

At your local library. Use a car repair manual or you can get the specific repair manual off of eBay for only a couple of dollars.
If you need to replace a damaged window you will need a screw driver screws and a new window pane. First remove the broken one then replace with new pane and screw in.
I wouldn't recommend doing car window repair on your own. Trying to repair a car window on your own can be very difficult and tedious. Glass is very fragile and it can easily break.
