Which relay were you looking for ? ( what does the relay control ? ) There must be 30 different relays throughout your Explorer in different locations
On a 1998 Ford Explorer , fuse # 18 , 25 amp , is for the drivers unlock relay , all unlock relay , and all lock relay
UNPLUG THE HEADLIGHT RELAY, AND SEE IF THEY TURN OFF.IF SO REPLACE THE RELAY. HOPE THIS HELPS. CCM
The 'switch' is integral to the turn signal lever mounted on the steering column. Not fun to replace. The 'flasher' relay is usually with the fuses or other relays. Check your owners manual for exact relay locations.
The WAC relay is a solid state relay usually used to control the air conditioning compressor clutch.
This part was updated, and a new relay from parts store will not look like the one you are trying to replace. Ours was a yellow box located up under the steering column. So if you bought one and can't find the part which looks like what you are trying to replace, look for a yellow box in the 97 Explorer, and apparently it is a blue box in the Ford Ranger. This replacement relay will work the flashers AND turn signals.
In a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac : In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment on the drivers side ( # 49 ) is the fuel pump relay You can view the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac owners manual online at : www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces ) Click on Owner Guides Page 273 has the diagram of the Power Distribution Box
In the power distribution box in your engine compartment ( Ford suggests disconnecting your battery before servicing anything in the PD BOX which means your Explorer will have to relearn its idle , clock and radio stations will have to be reset etc ) # 6 - 10 amp MINI FUSE for the powertrain control module # 10 - 30 amp MAXI FUSE for the powertrain control module ( PCM ) power relay # 4 RELAY - is the PCM POWER RELAY according to the owners manual
On my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT the fuel pump relay is in the power distribution box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment on the drivers side It is the large relay ( there are 3 large relays ) in the 2nd row from the drivers side , and the fuel pump relay is the 2nd large relay from the front end of the box ( the other large relay in that row is the PCM power relay ) also the other large relay , which is in the 1st row is ( the Wide open throttle A/C relay ) I assume your 2 door sport would be the same ( I sure wish the diagram I was looking at was numbered )
You can view the 2003 Ford Explorer Sport owners manual online at : www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces ) Click on Owner Guides ( page 131 has a diagram of the Power Distribution Box which is " live " that is located in the engine compartment on the drivers side ) The Owner Guide shows that ( relay 50B is the fuel pump relay )
According to my Haynes repair manual it is under the dash to the right of the steering column.
Replace the fuse and the relay called the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module).
