Step by step: 1. Open the glovebox, and empty it. 2. Squeeze the sides of the glovebox and drop it down. 3. Squeeze the tab on the connector to the resistor pack (hidden in the pic below, it's on the left). 4. Remove the 8mm hex-head screw holding the resistor pack. Once loosened, it can be unscrewed by hand (don't drop the screw!). 5. Lift the resistor pack from the bottom, it swings up and out.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Don't overtighten that screw!

I found out how to change it.My focus 2002 tdci heater blower was not working or only blowing on high,its the blower resistor.To change it pull down glove box sqeeze in the sides and drop it right down and disconnect the little rod holding it up.the resistor is on the right side retained by one screw.Just disconnect the wire and unscrew the screw and out it comes, it is a bit awkward to get to but youll get the hang of it.Replacement is is easy but watch you dont drop the screw.all in all took me about 5 minutes out and 5 minutes in. Now my blower is great.On the focus they usally blow when water gets in through the pollen filter housing,i siliconed mine when i changed the filter.
