starter replacement.I just replaced the starter on my 1994 they are located on the bottom of the engine next to the oil pan on the passengers side. First disconnect the battery, no shock to the system for you. Second, loosen the wires from the to terminals on the starter. Next, undo the bolts holding the starter to the transmission body(*), (*I think it is the transmission as I am not a mechanic I am unsure.) To put a new one on just reverse the order. There is a small gap shown on directions between the starter gears and the fly wheel(*) If it is installed correctly your yjeep should start up. The wires mentioned above are two different sizes so they cannot be mixed up.
