a thermostat is not an expencive part.....but if your asking you are likely very cold right now and changing it is going to be cold job if you are up north.if your motor is the vg30e its not so hard.its in between the 3 fan belt .just above the water pump you will have to drain off the water in the system first then remove the hose.next unbolt the mounted angle water neck.replace the therm & gasket reconnect every thing to the same as it was and refill the system..not so bad down here in florida..all the best......................buddy mack.........".if up north."...here is a trick to make this a little more pleasent of a job.........remove rad cap and run the motor for 10 minutes .....this will warm up the motor and the water..with out putting pressure on the system....PS note the dirrection of the thermostat..make sure istallation looks the same.

The 1990 Nissan Maxima came equipped with the 3.0L V6 and the RE4F02A automatic transmission. This type of transmission requires a professional tear down and overhaul to remove and replace the transmission filter assembly. It is not a standard pan filter with relatively easy access. The internal Maxima filter for the RE4F02A transmission is ATP part #B157.

No kill swoitch. You either got a wire on the wrong place or burned a fuseable link.
