You'll need a Phillips screwdriver to take the lower steering collar off that's right under the cylinder.Once that's off, put the key in and look on the bottom side and look for a small button. Push it in and turn the key and pull the cylinder out.Good luck

I believe that the switch is located in the ignition cylinder (which you can get from any auto parts store). Unfortunately you'll need a steering wheel puller and a tilt removal mechanism before you can start with that.

turn key inside the ignition and see whether the warning lights, ie check engine light and others dim as the key is being turned. If they don't dim then it is the ignition lock cylinder which is fairly easy to replace.
Sounds like the ignition switch is bad
