This may not work for your vehicle, this is a generic response. On most cars, there's a supporting ring that you see on the exterior, (usually green and sometimes it lights up) and then there's the slot part where the lighter plugs into. Well, you need access to back of it, which may be as simple as removing the ashtray, or it may require removing dash parts. Basicly the back part just screws into the front part that keeps it in place. And there will likely be either 2 or 3 (if it's lighted) wires plugged into the back. Make sure you disconnect the battery, or the fuse for the lighter circuit first and then disconnect the wires, and simply unscrew the back from the front part. It will likely just come out after that. Working in the area however is often cramped, and replacing it can be frustrating, take your time and don't get cut up on any sheet metal in there.
