Drain oil from machine.

Remove four bolts to the starter idler cover. Remove the small idler gear and set aside with the cover. Remove the left case cover. Loosen the nine bolts ina criss-cross pattern to avoid warping the cover. Once all are loose, remove them. The bolt farthest to the left is securing the ground wire, so disconnecting the battery is also recommended. You may have to rock the cover back and forth to get it loose. Try no to pry it off, this may cause damage. Carefully move the oil line out of the way without bending it too far, too much force may damage it. Remove all the dowels and set aside. While holding with a strap wrench, loosen the flywheel nut. This nut is on tight and an impact wrench will come in handy if you have one. Once loose, remove the washer and loosely replace the nut so when you pop the flywheel off, the nut will stop it from flying forward. Set your puller up. Line everything up and make sure it is straight. Crank on the center bolt until the flywheel pops. This may take some time, but it will break free. Remove the woodruff key. Pull the 52 tooth gear off the shaft. We highly recommend replacing this gear when you install your Xtreme starter clutch. Hold the flywheel on a stable surface. Loosen the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to avoid warping the flywheel. After you remove all of the bolts, you may need to press the one-way from the inside of the flywheel to remove it. Clean out the flywheel. Use rubbing alcohol and clean all the debris and grease from the inside and outside of the flywheel. Install the Xtreme Starter Clutch by lining up the bot holes. Prepare the bots by putting on some red locktite on each and snugging the bolts by hand. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to 11 ft/lbs or 1 N/m. you must secure these bolts correctly and evenly. Install the gear on the one-one way/flywheel assembly. Turn the gear clockwise while inserting the hub of the gear into the one-way opening. Now try and turn the gear counter-clockwise and it should engage. Clean the old gasket material from the case and cover. Cover the hole that is open to the transmission to stop debris from entering. Also clean the shaft surface and make sure all debris is removed. Put engine oil/lube on the shaft. Install the idler gear onto the shaft. Place the woodruff key in the slot. Now side the one-way/flywheel assembly over the shaft. Turn it to make sure the woodruff key is in place and that it rotates smoothly. Place the washer and flywheel nut on the shaft. take your strap wrench and tighten the nut to 110 ft/lbs. or 150 N/m. Make sure everything is well lubricated. Place the dowels in the case. Place the case cover onto the dowels and tap lightly. You may have to rock it slightly to position it. Replace the idler gear near the starter and replace the gasket and cover. Put your ground wire in position. Replace the bolts and tighten to 7.2 ft/lbs or 10 N/m. Use a criss-cross pattern when tightening. Move your oil line into place and reattach. Fill your Raptor up with oil and ride it for 15 minutes. Drain oil and replace filter. Fill with oil and it's ready to go.
