Doing this right now, very difficult,following manual instructions. Basically Dash to be removed to gain access to heater box nuts. Requires removal of centre consoul, Glove box,Steering column and Air bags which i have done. I stopped at the suggestion of degassing the Aircon, and successfully removed the old cables after raising the heater box slightly, removed the insulation between the heater box and firewall stuggled for an hour loosening the bridging plate and pulled the cables through into the drivers side floor space. Putting it all back tomorrow, wish me luck. In hindsight would have happilly paid Mazda dealership to tackle this one. Disgraceful design. Should get rid of car once repaired, could not go through this again.
