we are about to customize my dash with the same style electronic gauges that are in my firebird.. we will customize the dash with a piece of stock that is cut to fit my new round electronic gauges and they will hook right up to the original harness... good luck 2 u...
Did you replace it with the correct cluster ? the later ones are not compatible. You can replace the circuit board with a new one
The gauges on the dash is the instrument cluster.
The instrument cluster is what houses the speedometer, and the gauges.
I may be mistaken, but I don't think you can change the gauges. I think I recall seeing here, that you must replace the entire instrument cluster.

The meter refers to gauges in the instrument cluster.
the transmission will not accommodate a manual speedometer unless you replace the rear housing on the trani.... yes alot of money for the change over.. you can replace it with the round electronic gauges which is what i am doing to get rid of the cluster!! you can use manual oil and temp gauges.you just have to customize the dash section for those clusters. well worth it 2 me.
