Spark plugs screw into the engine heads. They can be removed with a deep well socket of the proper size and a ratchet. The leads, or plug wires, simply slid on to connect. remove plug wires one at a time, and pick the closest length wire from the new wiring kit to replace it, as the kit will have wires of several lengths much like the original wires.
if yr talking of a v 6 then remove the engine cover, turbo hoses if you have them and upper anti sway bar and then loosen the plenum , 7 bolts if memory serves, you can remove it completely but if its loosened off there is just enough room to remove the rear plugs and leads
To replace glow plugs on a Peugeot 405 turbo diesel, remove the connecting wire. Take off the 8 mm nut, followed by the 10 mm deep socket. Remove the old plugs and replace with new.
All depends on what kind of spark plugs you have. It could either be 30,000 miles or 150,000 miles.
If you dont know how to replace spark plugs I recomend you go to someone that does and have him show you because you might do more bad then good trying to change them for the first time.

THE INTAKE MANIFOLD MUST BE REMOVED. I WAS QUOTED > $600 TO CHANGE PLUGS. I SOLD MINE, AS IT WAS TIME FOR A TIMING BELT AS WELL. ANOTHER $600.
Replacing spark plugs is pretty simple. Disconnect the battery, remove the cover and cables, remove the old spark plugs, put in the new spark plugs, put the cover and wires back on the spark plugs, and reconnect the battery.
A fouled spark plug, faulty injector, etc. Maybe even a burnt valve. it could be oil on the plugs.
I shall answer my own question having found out how, and no it's not a silly question! When I finally got the plug leads off, I found the plugs, barely visible deep down. Not what I am used to. After doing research I found a 10" socket wrench, especially made for the task, available on the internet.... don't bother with Halfords(UK)
It is a lengthy process that can be found at http://www.monterosportonline.com/diy-perf2.HTML. you have remove the intake manifold in order to replace the spark plugs or the spark plug wires. It's not a recommended task for unexperianced person.
