Buy a new one at car parts store, then unscrew the old one to put new one in. Remove the plastic cover over the engine head (four nuts). The PCV valve is located at the top/back right--it has a black rubber vacuum line plugged into it.

2001 Toyota Echo doesn't have a timing belt.

User Avatar

You dont , it is controlled by the ECU , the is an "Idle Speed Control Valve" Which is located under the throttle body. should check it to see if the valve inside of it is stuck .

User Avatar

The Echo doesn't have a timing belt. It has a timing chain, and this chain will last a very long time. Toyota doesn't recommend replacing it (as a preventative or maintenance measure) unless or until you have problems.
