you have to pull out engine and trany and when out split the her apart to get to the bearing,its a big job......good luck

The top answer is incorrect if its a 2.0 this is a very easy job ill you need is a hammer a flat head screw driver on the far left of your trans is a big green cap with the VW on it knock it of with the tools above a little fluid will leak so get a cup next undo your clutch cable and look for a little black vw plastic clip on your release arm pry it of and let the arm fall the now back to the cap area the little black disk is your throwout baring a magnet will help pull it out .
