No you just have to get up under there and reach up. It's really easy. And its easy to remove the gages too. So don't take everything apart unless you want to clean back there.

Gently but firmly pull the plastic towards you. It may seem like you will break it but it will come.
The best place to replace a broken dashboard cover would be to go to the manufacturer where you bought your car. Another option would be to look for the same dashboard online and replace the dashboard yourself. I suggest not going out and buying a used dashboard for you do not know the condition of the dashboard.

Hope this helps...I just replaced the right turn signal bulb on 2001 Pontiac GTP. Imagine it is very similar to yours. Inside the trunk, pull the carpet back. Then unscrew the fasteners that are behind the lighting mechanism. Then the whole lighting mechanism pulls out (from the outside of the car) and the turn signal bulb is the one on the end. Pull out the bulb and replace with a new one. Hope this helps you.
you have to remove the cover of the dashboard to replace the light bulbs
It is located behind the passenger side dashboard. The dashboard has to be removed to replace.
I've recently put my car in for a service with the same problem and they actually hve to remove the whole dashboard to replace the light globe for the odometer reading. so it probably needs 2 go 2 the shop sorry m8
