The headlight switch should be easily removed from the dash. There are two connectors on the back side of the switch (one for the headlights and one for the dimmer). Simply unpug the connectors and plug in the new switch.

IT IS LOCATED UNDER THE PLASTIC STEERING COLUMN COVER NEXT TO THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH

User Avatar

To replace the dimmer switch on your Celebrity: 1. Remove the lower cover panel that runs under the dash. 2. Remove the trim panel under the steering column. 3. Remove the nuts/bolts that hold the steering column up. If your car has column shift disconnect the string leading to the shift indicator. 4. Lower the steering column. It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel. 5. The dimmer switch is on the side of the column below the ignition switch. 6. Disconnect the wire harness from the dimmer switch. Take out the screws and the switch will come off of the column. Note how it goes on the operating lever. Reverse the procedure to install the new dimmer switch. Check its operation before raising the steering column back in place.

As with most 80's and 90's GM vehicles, the headlight dimmer switch should be the blinker arm. Just give it a light pull toward the steering wheel.

You pull back on the turn signal switch. If that doesn't work then you may have a bad dimmer switch.

Assuming the dash light dimmer switch is not off, check the fuse.

User Avatar

Yes, the dash light dimmer switch is located next to the headlght switch. You rotate it one way and the lights dim out, rotate it the other way and they get brighter, keep rotating it that direction and the interior light comes on.
