You don't - according to the service manual. If you must it is located INSIDE the fuel tank as part of the fuel pump assembly. The fuel tank must be drained and removed to complete the procedure.

look underneith the Jeep in front of the tank ( you will have to get under it far enough on the drivers side) and you will see a silver can about the size of a soda can. make sure you have a rag or 2. look at the clips that are on each end of the can . squeeze the white tabs with youre fingers and pull. it might be a little hard at first but they will come apart. be aware that a little gas or none will come out so just besafe in case... spiked2u@aol.com

first you have to relive the fuel pressure from the line. you do this by finding the fuel rail under the hood and along the rail you will find a valve stem. it's like a valve stem on a bike tire. press the little pin that's down inside that stem. that should relive the pressure. next locate the filter which should be along the frame rail on the driver side about midway. there will be clips on either side of the filter that secure the fuel line to said filter. they will be the quick connect type and there are a few different kind so you will have to figure that for yourself. (they are real easy so don't fret, I'm sure you can figure it out.) Now that you have removed the clips and fuel line you will have to unbolt the fuel fliter and remove it. To reinstall the filter just reverse the prosses
