CRAWL UNDER THE REAR OF YOUR CAR AND LOOK FORWARD YOU WILL SEE A SILVER CANISTER WITH A HOSE GOING IN AND A HOSE COMING OUT. BE CAREFUL, THE CONNECTORS ARE SNAP CONNECTORS, PRESS THE TABS AND GENTLY PULL OUT, HOSE SHOULD DISCONNECT. BE CAREFUL OF THE "O" RINGS, CAN RUIN YOUR DAY IF THE GET TORN. You will need to raise the rear of the car. The fuel tank is located under the rear seats. The fuel filter is located behind the fuel tank running horizontally.
There is a snap clip on one end, and a threaded fitting on the other end. You can't put this filter in backwards because the fittings won't allow it.
Warning: This system has an electric fuel pump. Make sure the ignition switch is off before disconnecting any fuel fittings. Also, keep in mind the fuel system may be under pressure and gas will come out of the filter under pressure. Have something available to collect the gas that will try to escape.
To remove, pinch the tabs together on the supply end and pull the line away from the filter. With a fuel proof container, catch any gas that comes from the open end of the filter.
Using two wrenches, sorry I don't have the exact sizes for the wrenches, place the larger wrench on the hex fitting attached to the filter. Hold this wrench still while twisting the fuel line fitting counter clockwise.
Keep in mind these may be hard to separate depending on your climate. Salt from the roads makes it hard to twist apart. Never use heat to help separate these fittings!
To install, start with the threaded end and then slide fuel line over the clip fittings. Turn on ignition to pressurize the system and check for leaks.
