How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 2003 Ford Mondeo?

First take off the grill cover the radiator by unclipping the clips at each side and lifting it upwards. Unscrew the two screws at the front of the head lamp and then the third screw on top. Lift out the head lamp carefully. Unplug the back case of the head lamp with the clip below. Unclip the headlight by clipping together the metal clips and take out the headlamp, making sure you do not touch the light. Replace the headlamp also making sure you do not touch the light with your skin. In case you do, wipe thoroughly with a soft tissue. Close and replace the appliances in the same way.
On a mk7 Fiesta (2008-11) simply a case of prising off the rubber covers behind the bulbs then twisting the build holders anti-clockwise - may waht to use a screwdriver just to assist the little lugs as its twists. Fiddley, but no need to remove any major componants, though I took off the fuse cover to make it a little easier. Once holders are out and hanging by their wires, just a case of levering out the bulbs and replacing with new ones, then twisting back into place. Five minute job once you've done it the first time

∙ 8y agoREMOVE BATTERY TO get at right one. Undo ring around light bulb, remove old, and replace with new. Do not touch glass on new ones. Causes early burnout from body oils. . I bought a HAYNES manual at ADVANCE AUTO, etc.

∙ 14y agoHi There, First remove grille by turning two fasteners on the top a quarter of a turn and lifting out, Then pull grille forward and unclip. Look around headlamp and you will see 2 metal retainers, pull these up and remove, the headlamp will now pull forward and out, unclip rear cover on light to access bulb.... Hope this helps.. ∙ 15y agoThere are 2 pins on the headlight housing. You can find them if you pop the hood and look at the top of the headlight assembly. They are flat and you won't need anything more than a flat head screw driver to get them out. Don't touch the new bulbs or they may explode once heated. Cheers.

∙ 12y agoIf you are changing the passenger side its fairly simple. Take the cover off the back of the light bulb that you want to remove twist it till it releases and slide it out. Disconnect the clip from the bulb and then repeat the steps backwards. Beware these are halogen bulbs so if you touch them with your bare skin it will mess the bulbs up.
If you are changing the drivers side its a bit more challenging. I had to remove the air box completely (I have rather large hands and they didn't fit in to get the bulb loose.) With the air box removed its just like changing the passenger side. Remove the rubber cover, unscrew the bulb harness, change bulb then repeat backwards. Reinstall the air box and that's that. You can access the harness through the inner fender according to the instructions manual. I couldn't get that to work and removing the air box was the easiest way for me to do it.

∙ 14y agohi there,so so easy,as you look at the headlight from the front of the vehicle,you should see rod-ends,very small so look closely,they look like long pins,you need to pull these out using some pliers gently,then ease the headlight out,i would remove the grille too to make it easier,thats simple too,just twist the retaining screws and lift out. now just do the reverse to put it back together,dont worry about the aligning of the headlights,that is set with the pins

∙ 15y agoFrom under the hood... and DO NOT touch the bulb with your fingers. If you do, clean it with isopropyl alcohol. The holders usually screw loose.
