If the motor is a 4 cylinder, then the filter is located IN the oil pan.
To remove that filter, you need a 7/8 wrench and some pasta in the arm. There is a 4-5" "plug" in the bottom of the oil pan that has a bolt head in the middle of it. Place the wrench on the head and loosen to remove the plug.
Let the oil drain and look into the hole. The filter is nestled right up there.
Take two flat edge screw drivers and use them to pry the filter out.
