It takes a special socket that sometimes you can rent from the parts stores. Or you can buy them for about $10.
Buy a specail socket from an auto parts store for O2 sensor. Make sure you upplug the negative battery cable before you take off the sensor. The sensor is easy to get to. Unsrew it and replace it with the new one. Make sure you do not get the new sensor dirty.
You should probably warm up the engine first to allow the exhuast manifold to expand a little and make the thing come out easier. Be carefull not to burn yourself on the hot exhaust! Also, you may want to spread a little anti-seize compound on the threads of the new sensor in case you need to replace it again.
If you still have trouble getting it out (not unusual!), buy a spray can of PB Blaster (best) or Liquid Wrench penetrant at an auto parts store. Spray generously around the threads of the sensor, then lightly tap the base of the sensor to set up vibration, then wait a few minutes before trying again. Do this repeatedly (over several days, if necessary).
its screwed into the exhaust manifold, undo wire and unscrew at manifold.
All you have to do is look at your exhaust manifold there is a sensor screwed into your manifold ,that is plugged into a connector on the left side of motor unsrew the sensor and unplug the sensor wire and that is all you do and replace with a new sensor really simple fix
Have you check the manifold? There should be one at the manifold and one at the catalyc! Hope you find it!
Cut the wire, unscrew the old oxygen sensor then replace it with the new one and finally, connect the new wire, making certain that you follow the manufacturers wiring diagram. To find the oxygen sensor, look at the exhaust manifold, then follow it down to where the manifold feeds into the headpipe. The oxygen sensor is the part that screws into the exhaust and has a wire connected to it.
exhaust manifold
Oxygen sensor is located at the exhuast Manifold.
the oxygen sensor is on the exhaust manifold directly in front of the fan. there is one above and below the manifold.
the oxygen sensor in located in the exhaust manifold under the intake manifold at the back of the engine
THE O2 SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE MANIFOLD. IT JUST UNSCREWS OFF THE SIDE OF IT, THEN YOU JUST UNPLUG IT.
Yes, one O2 sensor and it's on the exhaust manifold. It has two nuts that hold it on and has a connector which unplugs to replace it.
The oxygen sensors are screwed into the exhaust system. They are not under the lower intake.
oxygen sensor is found either in exhaust manifold or in actual exhaust pipe between manifold and muffler
