Saturns have a design defect, and the piston rings are part of a complete engine overhaul. $$$$$ You'll want to flush out the carbon that builds on the piston rings, that causes it to consume oil... A home mechanic could do this for less than $1000 but he would be skipping many performance and reliability repairs as he has the engine apart.
Remove the positive cable from your 1995 Saturn battery. Remove the cables from the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
2 possiblities: 1) worn piston rings, or 2)leaking valve seals
