How do you replace the serpentine belt on a 2000 Cadillac Deville Northstar Engine?
The 2000 General Motors/Cadillac Deville came equipped in the 4.6L Northstar engine. Removing the main belt will require depressing the tensioner to free it. The new belt can then be routed across the accessory drive pulleys. The OE AC Delco belts for this application are 6K815 and 3K243.
You're trying to replace the serpentine belt on a 1998 Cadillac DeVille but you have extra slack How do you you replace the belt properly when you're sure you have the right replacement belt?
The Northstar cooling system is self-purging. It's highly doubtful that you have an "air pocket" but if you must do something, take the cap off the surge tank and let the engine warm to around operating temp. If there are any bubbles they'll vent from the surge tank. Then replace the cap and you're good to go. But I'd be very suprised if you have an 'air bubble'. They just don't happen on the Northstar.
