Removing spark plugs on a pt cruiser. the throttle body has 3 13mm bolts The throttle body on my 2003 was held to the bracket with only 2 13mm bolts. My 2004 non-turbo has only one. Per a commenter at ptcruiserlinks.com plugs should be torqued to 13 ft/lb +/-2. Per Chrysler, the plugs should be gapped at 0.040" I found the spark plug wires very difficult to remove, but with persistence, I was able to get them off the plugs. Try twisting then back and forth while pulling. There is nothing special about the way they're connected. It's just that the rubber boot seems to adhere to the top of the plug.

Maybe when they put the spark plugs in they were not gapped right or they maybe the wrong spark plugs.
Use the same Champion plugs the factory installed.

Spark plugs in a car need to be replaced every once in awhile. To replace them, disconnect the battery, disconnect the cables, remove the old spark plugs, replace with new spark plugs, reconnect the cables, and reconnect the cat battery.
the spark plugs require a 5/8 inch spark plug socket.
You have to remove the upper intake manifold.
Remove the spark plugs with a 5/8 deep well socket. Turn the socket to the left. Tighten the new spark plugs by turning socket to the right.
