To replace the handle, you must remove the back plate on the inside of the tailgate(usually 2 screws). then you must rotate the control rod clips(the white clips that hold the control rods in place) and then pull the rod ends off. If you don't want a real pain, tie the two rods together with a rubber band (or else they fall into the gate body). Then remove the 2 bolts(or 2 nuts). After the bolts are removed there are a few of the cheesy platic clips that hold it on. these release just by pushing out on the latch assembly. I would suggest ordering a few extra just in case they break (one usually does). If you are really partial to the Nissan logo you will probably have to order another, since it doesn't come with the tail gate latch assembly. Assembly is just the reverse. Pop the latch in place, replace the bolts (or nuts) , rotate the clips, pop in the rods and you are good to go. If you have the locking type you must remove the lock mechanism and put it in the new latch assembly before reinstalling the assembly. (not a big deal, but if you have a digital camera, take a picture for reference).
