How do you replace thermostat located on a 1993 Buick Regal?
Should be located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose housing. Drain about 1 gallon of coolant Remove housing Make note how thermostat is installed Clean surfaces well Replace thermostat and gasket Re-fill radiator Start engine and check for leaks Run engine to normal operating temperature with heater on Check coolant level
It is located under the thermostat housing. Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. This is the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts and pull housing off motor (motor should be cold when doing this). clean off gasket surfaces & replace thermostat. Bolt housing back on, open radiator, top off with coolant.
The sensor that controls the cooling fan is located on the housing of the thermostat. The thermostat is located on the right Sid of the engine if you are stanging in front of the car. Depends on the type of engine, but in 3800 type, remove the plastic hood (the one that bears the number: 3800) and the thermostat housing should be on the right side. Follow the upper radiator hose, it is connected to it. On the thermostat housing, you will also find the air bleed valve of the engine.
