how do you set timing on a 92 geo prizm if timing belt has broken
is included with timing belt service
When you replace the timing belt you should replace the water pump and tensioner pulley as well. It may save you in labor costs down the road. But, all together it is about $500.
A timing CHAIN
my 92 Nissan has a belt make shure that its abelt and not a chain
Uses a belt!
Which belt? Fan belt or timing belt? Or is it the a/c belt? The timing belt is the hardest. Let me know and I'll be able to help you. Lee Duncan email@example.com
have never worked on your specific model but on 99% of vehicles the water pump is run by the timing belt so it will need to be removed to replace the pump, best bet is to get a haynes type manual if you feel competent on changing a timing belt if not best leave it to the pro's as you could do a lot of damage mis-timing an engine
50,000-60,000 miles. Whoever changes the timing belt, recommend buy the kit (not just the belt) and be careful to keep timing marks aligned.
I would like to install a timing belt on my 93 960 volvo / how do I line up the cams with the crank shaft???
No such thing as a timing chain belt. It is either a belt or chain. Replace the belt according to the schedule in your owner's manual. If it breaks and your engine is an interference engine, you will 95% of the time have damage. You will know the extent of the damage when the engine is torn down. The 1992 SL2 has a timing chain. Mine has 240,000 miles on it and is still running fine.
don't do it yourself! almost all Honda engines are interference engines meaning the valves can and will come into contact with the pistons and bend if the timing is off. then it becomes major engine repair! take that one to a professional and ask to have the water pump replaced (it is turned by the timing belt) while they are there or you will be paying the same labor further down the road to have the timing belt removed and replaced again.
you get in the car, put the key in it, start it, and drive it to amechanic... this works on my 95 civic si.... results may be different
buy a do and he will make a Lexus TRUE stOrY
Yes 4 cylinder have chain and 6 have belts.
inside , drven by the timing belt
If you have no compression in all 4 cylinders your timing belt is broke.
How do you Replace the timing bealt of lexus es 300 92 and a diagram?
Mine just had to be changed here awhile back too,but my dads friend did it so I can't say how it was done, but it cost me a couple hundred bucks.
Highly recommend while you are already there. Water pump will fail or leak before timing belt needs replaced again
It is called a thermostat and it is near the top behind the timing belt
Probably timing belt is worn out or jumped a tooth
