Remove wheels. Remove 2 bolts securing brake caliper. Slide caliper off and support. Rotors should slide off.

Actually , the 1996 Ford Explorer has small emergency brake shoes inside the back of the disc brake rotors on the REAR brakes only

You will need to remove the tire and wheel from your Mitsubishi Eclipse. Make sure the vehicle is secure when the tire and wheel is off. Remove the brake pad assembly. Loosen the rotors with a hammer. The rotors will slide off. Reverse the process to install the new rotors.

Pads or shoes worn beyond usable. Replace pads and rotors or shoes and drums as needed.

front rotors are 25mm standard min is 22mm back rotors are 8.5mm min

Break rotors heat up very fast while drive and stopping, todays technology in my sense isn't the best on rotors. If you have a heavy foot and brake hard, that will contribute to warped rotors. Sudden stops will also case warping. Most brake Specialist (Les Shwab) recommend on new cars, and new rotors to brake easy, (light foot) on your new rotors for the first 1,000 miles of the rotors life. That way they have time to brake in.

If you notice shaking as you apply the brakes this is generally caused by warped brake rotors. This happens as the brake rotors wears. Sometimes people take shortcuts by just replacing the brake pads and machining the rotors but as the rotor becomes thinner it cannot absorb the high heat that they operate in. Most likely this is the problem.

how to change brake lines on a 1996 ford econoline e-150

about 150 t0 175 dollars for brake pads and new rotors at advance auto Other pricing: Autozone: * Rotors range from $26 to $45 (don't buy the 'value' rotors - more likely to warp) * Rotors that are thick enough can be turned/machined - local shop does them for only $10-15 * Pads start at $19, upgrade to $32, and top-o-the-line "CMax" ceramics (my favorite type!) at $55 Be sure to grease up the slide pins and anywhere the pads 'ride' on the caliper brackets - using BRAKE grease.

turn the brake piston to adjust. adjust all the way down.

What should it cost to replace rear brakes, drums and rotors, '96 Volvo 850 GLT.

Master cylinder or drum brake (hydraulic slave) wheel cylinder or disc brake caliper cylinder? drum brake shoes rear

what kind of wrench to remove brake pads

Break wheel nuts(tool: Wheel tool), jack up vehicle, Remove wheel, remove brake pads( tool: by hand or flat bit screw driver), then remove brake caliper( Tool: either 12,14,or 17 spanner or ratchet), after that you can remove the rotor by hand.

Those rotors are pressed on at the factory, they must be cut off and also you will need to replace the wheell bearings. Buy new rotors and wheel bearings (whole hub) approx. $84.00 each. Had mines done by acura dealership paid $ 570.00 you probably could get it done cheaper.

buy some stell brake line and bend it up then place double flare on the ends

IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE EMERGENCY-BRAKE SET-UP ON THE GRAN MARQUIS IS SELF-ADJUSTING TO A POINT. INSIDE THE REAR ROTORS ARE BRAKE SHOES (THESE ARE LIKE THE OLD DRUM-BRAKES, ONLY SMALLER) AND IF THE LINING IS WORN DOWN ON THOSE SHOES, THEN YOU WILL HAVE NO EMERGENCY BRAKE. BOTH REAR AXLES WILL HAVE TO BE REMOVED TO REPLACE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SHOES SINCE THE DIAMETER OF THE SHOES IS THE SAME AS THE DIAMETER OF THE AXLE FLANGES MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO R&R THE BRAKE MOUNTING HARDWARE.

To replace the brake light bulb on a 1996 Ford Ranger is very simple. There are four bolts that hold the housing that will need to be removed. After the bolts are removed, the wires connector needs taken off and then the bulb can be twisted out.

If it is the same as a 2000 A4 then you have to replace the rotors with the pads so figure $500 per axle.
