The abs indicator light is on because there is a problem with the system. Until that problem is fixed that light won't go out. There is a code set in the computer of your car as to why the light is on. Many auto parts stores will read the codes free of charge if you buy the parts to fix it from them. Once you have made repairs the light will go off by itself.
