The answer is in the manual.
Set the odometer to the trip A setting, turn off the car, then turn the key to the accessory position while holding down the trip reset button, this should turn it off.
# Turn your ignition to the ON position # Press the Odometer reset button until the Trip A is displayed # Turn the ignition to OFF # Press and hold the Odometer # Turn the ignition back to ON # Hold the Odometer reset button until the odometer reads 000000 (it will count down from ------ to ----- to ---- etc) The Maint Reqd light should turn off at this time # Turn the ignition back off # If you want to verify that it worked, just turn the ignition back on This does not work on a 2006 Camry. Instead of Trip A, use the odometer display and follow the rest of the instructions.
Turn the 4Runner on, make sure that you are looking at the "odometer" miles and not the "Trip" miles. Turn the 4Runner off, hold the "reset" button, turn the 4Runner On and the "MAINT" light will blink 3 times. Release the "reset" button and the light will turn off. This worked great for me but the light flashed 5 times then went off. 2007 SR5 4WD 16,000 miles recently purchased from dealer hopefully there is nothing else wrong/ FYI the manual told me that the maint light is for oil change.
You may have to repeat this several times until you accomplish the task. Select the odometer total miles with the trip reset switch. Turn off ignition and then turn on again depressing the reset switch and holding it until the maint light begins blinking. Continue pressing on the switch until the maint light goes out.
MAINT REQD on means its time to replace your engine oil. The indicator lamp stays on until it is reset. To reset this reminder: While the ignition switch is on, but the engine is not running, move the trip selector to ODO. Push and hold down the trip selector push knob. Turn off the ignition switch, then turn on the switch. The reset will go through 000000.0 then ------, -----, ----, ---, --, -. once it runs through, release the trip selector knob. The MAINT REQD lamp goes out.
cause u need an oil change
with a diagnostic scanner for obd 11 - you could also try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes
is my car safe to drive if the break light and abs light is on in my 2007 Toyota Camry
Open the glove box, look inside up to the left, the reset switch is hiding up there. Not in the glove box, but up to the left when you open it up. Hope that helps
1. Ensure odometer is showing total miles (not one of the "trip" miles). 2. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position. 3. Push the trip odometer reset button and hold it "in." 4. WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON, turn the ignition key to "ON" and continue to hold the reset button down until the odometer reading shows "------" and the "maint required" light goes off (about 5 seconds). 5. Release the reset button and total miles will return and the maint required light stays off! I got this answer from WikiAnswers for the 2004 Sienna. If my answer doesn't make sense, look at that guy's.
This is how to reset "Maintenance Required" light on Toyota Camry with "Smart Key" feature. This works on 2007 and newer Camry models, including the Camry Hybrid. Put the odometer on "Trip A." Turn off the car, hold down the odometer button and, without putting foot on the brake, push "Start" button twice (while continuing to hold down the odometer button). Watch the display . . . it will speak for itself.
