There are no insturctions in the manual. I did find that once coolant was added it went off. My just came on again and after awhile it went off. I am troubleshooting now. My problem is either a bad sensor or it could possible be low in the resevoir. I have yet to check. If you still have the light I suggest to take it in for repair.
When you add engine coolant to a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee because the low coolant indicator has come on, you should add to the reserve tank and the radiator if they are low. Sometimes, just the reserve tank needs filled.

In systems that do not have a radiator cap, the coolant is drained by the radiator drain plug. It is filled by adding coolant to the system through the overflow bottle.
its a dance party
The coolant is added by filling up the reservoir bottle. This model is not filled through a radiator cap.
My low coolant light remains on eventhough I have filled the ressovor. what can I do?Found after removing and replacing the sensor and bottle still had error, finally drained radiator and added correct coolant mixture in radiator, indicator went away. Appear I had a weak mixture of coolant and water in radiator, which kept giving me the "ENGINE COOLANT LOW' I guess it really was low in coolantRead more: Why_does_your_jaguar_XJ8_say_engine_coolant_low_when_it_is_full
Coolant is flushed from the radiator of a 1997 Honda Accord by opening the petcock and allowing the system to drain. The petcock is then closed, the system filled with water, and a flush added to the radiator to cleanse the system.
If it's overheating, it cold be thermostat, radiator or possibly other problems. If it's not overheating it could be the coolant level sensor.
If you can't see where its coming from, it may be a cracked head, or a bas headgasket. Also, when you add water to the coolant tank, it doesn't immediately go into the radiator. After the car sits a while, the radiator starts to cool, creating a vacuum. Water/coolant is then pulled into the radiator from the coolant tank.
Most modern vehicles have a reservoir from which extra coolant can flow to the radiator and vice versa. Coolant in this reservoir usually indicates the radiator has sufficient fluid. Checking the radiator by opening the cap is a secondary means but the level may vary by temperature.
On a 2000 Ford Ranger : With the engine cold the radiator should be filled to the seat for the radiator cap and the engine coolant reservoir should be filled to the cold mark
Not sure what you mean by coolant port... Antifreeze can be added to the cap on the passenger side of the radiator if it is low and the reservoir on the driver's side should be filled to the line when cool
