How do you reset the check engine light on a 97 Nissan altima Light been on for 3yrs car runs great 204000 miles repair shop said light is a knock engine sensorhe reset but came on in 30min.?

Fix the problem is the only way. Other than that the light will come back on after every reset. The other thing to do is cut a 1" piece of electrical (black) tape and put it on the dash so you don't see the light.
