Best Answer

1. Place game you want to install in disc tray

2. Navigate to where you launch the game from the main dashboard.

3. Press Y for "game info"

4. Scroll down list until you see "Install to Hard Drive", press it.

5. Bam! It's now installing. This can take 5-10 minutes easy, since most games are around 5-8Gb in size from what I've seen

II Column II

There are many functions and devices that are able to save game progress or any other kind of file that the Xbox 360 is aware of like music, internet downloads, demos, and more.

First you need to check if you have the right kind of device that is made as a data storing device. If you have an xbox 360 core, and you did not buy anything else with that, then you can not save any games or anything to your xbox, and you can not go on to xbox live either. If you immediately buy an xbox 360 pro console, or an xbox 360 elite console, you automatically receive a 20GB or a 120GB Hard Drive.

There are several types of devices that have been made to help you store information and restore game progress:

20GB Hard Drive

120GB Hard Drive

256MB Memory Card

56MB Memory Card

Once you have the right devices, in order to save gaming progress, you need to be on the game that you want to save in order to save the **** gaming progress in which you are playing at the time. Every game functions differently, and they all run a program so that it will open your dashboard menu during the game and ask you which device you will be saving your gaming progress to. If this asks you this automatically, it is )(87attempting to do autosaves for you, which automaticallly saves your game progress through out checkpoints and the game. To save the game by ******* yourself while you are in the game, just simply pause the game, and it will most likely have a save option, go to the save game option on the game menu and hit the save option and it may ask which device you are saving to whether it is a hard drive or a memory card detected in the xbox. Once you select the device it will no longer **** or ask you what device to save it to until the xbox is rebooted or shut down. Once selected it will save to your device, and you may load the game whenever you want to

(("Ok- I'm assuming you have the NXE (New Xbox Experience)... if you don't, then you can't.

Put the game in the tray. Go to the dashboard, and go to either My Xbox or My Games... sorry I can't remember... find that game and tell it to download...

Honeslty I wouldn't though... games run much slower, and its not as convenient as you may think, and takes up TONS of harddrive space"))

* Whoever answered this is completely wrong. You can save Xbox games into your 360. You will just be forced out of the Dashboard and offline. When you start a new game with whatever Xbox game you have, you are allowed to save it.

If your trying to save a game that was downloaded from xbox live, it should do that automatically. But if you have a game on a disc and want to download it to your hard drive you have to look at the game options.

When you go to the dashboard, look at the panel for the game itself. Under the panel on the bottom of your screen, their is a list of buttons and what they do. I believe it is the "Y" button that will bring you to the games info screen. In that screen there are several options, the last option says, "Save to hard drive" or "Download to hard drive". This option will take a little while, maybe 25 minutes to an hour, depending on the game.

This will also allow the game to load faster when you play it, because the game is being read directly from the xbox instead of from the disc itself. For example, in Halo Reach, the maps can take a while to load while playing online, and this will allow them to load faster.

No you cannot save games to your hardrive, which would obviously be stealing. You can however, install the game to your hardrive and, with the disc, play it with shorter load times.
